2016-04-25

In the afternoon of April 25, CIE held forum to learn about difficulties encountered by international students in study and daily life, and listened to their voices and recommendations for the service and management. Vice-dean of CIE, Bao Hua presided over the meeting, joined by over 20 foreign students from Saudi Arabia, Pakistan,Kazakhstan, Turkey, Vietnam, Sweden, South Korea and some teachers of CIE.

The participating students took active part in the discussion and put forth their suggestions about international student service and management, such as recommending that CIE organize more international cultural festivals so as to promote multi-cultural exchanges, setting up clubs for foreign students to offer a mutual support platform, forming pairs between Chinese students and foreign students, and building apartments for foreign students on Fengxian campus. They also voiced the idea that they wanted to be equally treated with Chinese students. The teachers listened to the students’ recommendations and kept interacting with students. In the end, Bao put forward some requirements by requesting that international students abide by Chinese laws and university rules, work hard and make friends, take part in activities launched by university and the college and get a deeper understanding of China.

The participating students regard the forum as a good practice and hope to have more opportunities to have face-to-face communication with teachers. CIE promised that apart from conducting regular forums, they will organize moreactivities to strengthen the interaction and cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign students. Meanwhile, CIE is actively preparing for the setup of a practice base so as to provide an internship platform for international students.
