In the afternoon of November 17, the research group headed by Liu Guangqing from CIE-BUCT visited our university for international student education, joined by the vice-dean of CIE-ECUST, Bao Hua, and related faculty memebers.
Bao first extended a cordial welcome to the research team and pointed out the similarities in school-running characteristics and major disciplines shared by the two universities, hoping that the two sides could learn from each other, broaden insights and advance education for international students. Apart from giving a detailed statement of the overall situation of the international student program, Bao expounded the program from the viewpoints of its evolution, organizational structure of CIE, number of students and educational policies at the levels of ECUST and CIE.
Liu spoke highly of our international student education, adding that ISE in Shanghai takes the lead across the country and indicating that they were here to borrow advanced ideas. He thought that with common background of chemical technology and many other similarities, learning from ECUST would speed up international education of BUCT.
At the meeting, the two sides also exchanged opinions and ideas in terms of enlarging scales of international students, optimizing structures, effective faculty allocation, proper curriculum provision, and more.
