In the morning of January 20, the 2016 ECUST international student education commendation meeting was held in the cheerful speech hall of Yifu Building. The conference was chaired by Bao Hua, vice-dean of CIE. Vice President Liu Changsheng attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The responsible persons from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Graduate School, the Discipline and Professional Development Planning Office and colleges, faculty representatives and relevant management personnel attended the meeting to exchange opinions and experiences.

At the meeting, BaoHua reported the overall situation of the foreign student education at ECUST. Li Yongsheng, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, read out the recognition decision. The School of Chemical Engineering and other five schools were awarded the "Advanced group of international student education", Yu Huiqunand other 9 people from the School of Information Science and Engineering were rated as "Excellent instructorfor international students in China", Wang Yanchunand other 5 people from the graduate school were rated as "Advanced inpidual for foreign students teaching management ".

As the advanced collective representative, vice-dean of the School of Chemical Engineering Zhao Shuangliang stated the specific work done on the combination of college positioning and development goals, influence and attractiveness improvement, and emphasis on the cultivation quality of foreign students and other aspects. Vice-dean of  the School of Business, Huang Lujin, shared her experience in internationalization strategy of cultivation, organizational security and pision of labor, integration development between foreign and Chinese students and so on.

Yu Huiqun, as the excellent instructor representative from the School of Information Science and Engineering shared her experience in terms of the guidance of foreign students and taking full account of the construction of English-taught courses. Luan Weiling, vice-dean of the Graduate School introduced the foreign exchanges and cooperation development, and considered the problems encountered in international graduate education.

Liu Changsheng concluded the speech by first congratulating he award-winning units and inpiduals, affirming the achievements in foreign student education work, and pointing out the gap with the brother universities. He also pointed out that the establishment of the International Student Education Steering Committee and working committee in this semester formed a coherent management framework for foreign students in China, and provided organizational security for ECUSTforeign student education.

Liu stressed that in the development of foreign student education, colleges must pay equal attention to scale and quality, strengthen the content construction, build communication platform to promote the exchangesbetween Chinese and foreign students, conform to the international situation and improve the management level. He said that foreign student education is one of the countries' diplomatic strategies in the new developmental period, colleges thus should raiseconsciousness and form a concerted effort to steadily expand the scale of international students so as to match it with the development and positioning of our university.
