On the afternoon of March 15, a seminar on the construction of English-taught undergraduate majors in 2019 was organized and held by CIE. And it was hosted by Bao Hua, the vice dean of this college. Among those attending this seminar were the deputy dean in charge of the School of Chemical Engineering, the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, the School of Information Science and Engineering, the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering and the School of Business, as well as the department heads responsible for related majors and related teachers in International Cooperation and Exchange Office.

First, Bao Hua reported the overall situation of our efforts on international students work and the construction of English-taught undergraduate majors. And she also encouraged everyone to strengthen the construction of English-taught majors in ECUST. By that, ECUST can attract more top students, enhance its school-running level and eventually promote its internationalization and double first-class initiative development.

Second, during the seminar, various issues were heatedly discussed including English Courses construction, input of training programs, admission publicity, Sino-foreign joint university program, base school construction, teaching methods, support for international students learning, and exchanges and interaction of students from China and other countries. Besides, joint efforts will been taken by each department and school to foster English course construction and recruitment and training of international students so as to push English-taught undergraduate majors to a new high.
