Our teachers teach in a way that we can easily understand, so the class time is very interesting.” KANG DONGHEE, a student from South Korean delivered his graduation speech affectionately at the ceremony.
This autumn of 2019 is a period of rapid growth for international students in our college in that the number of Chinese classes is expanded to nearly 10, and the number of students in each class is fully saturated. Through one semester of Chinese course learning, international students have improved their Chinese level, obtaining certain Chinese knowledge, as well as realizing the extensive and profound Chinese culture through colorful cultural activities.
As for the rules and regulations of the College, the implementation of The Regulations on the Administration of International Students in East China University of Science Technology at the beginning of this semester effectively regulated and promoted the attendance and learning of international students. A total of 12 students won the “Perfect Attendance Award” whose attendance rate in class all reached 100%, setting an example for international students.
CIE has successfully applied for the “ECUST Chinese Proficiency Test Center”, which also marks the enhancement of the radiation power of our college in Shanghai's Chinese test area. The first HSK level 4 examination to be held on January 11th will be our first trial. The HSK level 5 computer network examination will be added in March, which will benefit the new and old international students in our school and the surrounding areas. Therefore, welcome students to take an active part in our Chinese level 4 and 5 examinations.
In the new year, the College will continue to spare no efforts to provide better Chinese courses, enrich cultural experience and language practice activities, strengthen the management, improve the quality of international students’ training, and create the brand of “Chinese in ECUST”.
