On October 27, four international students from South Korea, Cameroon and the United Kingdom led by their Chinese teacher, took part in the volunteer activity called Small Chestnut Speech held at the ECUST-attached primary school and made an exchange report entitled "Life and fun of pupils all over the world" They carefully prepared the Powerpoint presentatioins to introduce the primary school life and leisure activities of children in their own countries in Chinese. The vivid pictures and clear presentation acquainted the third-year children with what foreign primary school life is like, and won the cordial welcome from the teachers and students.
Through this event, foreign students have an opportunity to understand students’ learning, lifestyle in Shanghai primary schools, and have a better understanding of China's school culture and education model. In the preparatory process of modifying the report manuscript and practicing pronunciation over and over again, students not only improved their spoken Chinese, but also enhanced enthusiasm for and confidence in learning Chinese language.
