“CIE x Bilin Talk” Series: Professor Liu Lening from University of Columbia kicks off with the first lecture in the new year!

We are thrilled to welcome renowned scholar Professor Liu Lening from Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at University of Columbia and the director of the Graduate Program on Chinese Teaching Methodology, delivering an exceptional discourse to ECUST students and staffs.

The Chinese Teaching Department at Columbia University stands as a prominent hub for international Chinese education, boasting an expansive curriculum and the largest enrollment of students outside of China. Professor Liu utilized the Chinese teaching program at Columbia University as a case study to explore strategies for overcoming the challenges encountered in international Chinese education, particularly the integration of oral and written language instruction. Furthermore, Professor Liu conducted a meticulous analysis of practical teaching methodologies, offering specific cases and examples to facilitate an in-depth exchange of ideas and foster lively discussions among educators and students from over 10 esteemed institutions such as Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and New York University Shanghai.
